Position Summary

\n

We are seeking a highly organized and creative-minded individual to oversee the

\n

development team, and to effectively coordinate the company’s software product

\n

development and maintenance. The director shall be responsible for ensuring the

\n

company’s resources provide a return on investment and will provide senior

\n

management with a transparent and clear view into achieving those goals

\n

through regular updates and reports. The director will work closely with the

\n

Director of Product Support and the company President.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Oversee the administration of departmental needs, including: hiring, training, managing staff , approving

\n

PTO and time sheets.

\n

• Create, evaluate, and maintain the departmental procedures and standards, keeping them updated within

\n

Confluence.

\n

• Oversee the assignment of resources to development projects, and ensure that resources are being used

\n

effectively, and deadline are met.

\n

• Using JIRA, ensure that development project notes and hours are thoroughly tracked by the staff , and

\n

reported to senior leadership weekly.

\n

• Oversee weekly development and code review meetings with the department managers.

\n

• Handle critical system issues with expediency to support those servicing our customers.

\n

• Negotiate the technical specifications of third party customizations and integrations.

\n

• Work with senior management to envision and realize a more valuable product.

\n

• Mentor junior staff regularly, helping them fill the gaps in their knowledge and grow as individuals.

\n

• Hold the development staff accountable for the reliability of their code, and for their ability to make

\n

deadlines without drawing too much on outside resources.

\n

• Work with operations to ensure the security of our code and data, and that the department has the

\n

resources it needs to move quickly.

\n

• Oversee both a UI Designer and UX developer to keep the system designs up to date and moving

\n

forward.

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

• At least ten years of experience in a full stack environment

\n

• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio

\n

• Familiarity with Razor, Blazor, C#, EDIFACT and ASP.NET

\n

• Working knowledge of React, and TypeScript

\n

• Extensive experience with SQL Server

\n

• Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript

\n

• Experience with both SOAP and REST web services

\n

Preferred Experience

\n

• Knowledge of the travel and leisure industry is a plus

\n

• Familiarity with an integrated development environment

\n

• Some knowledge of networks and servers

\n

• XML Schema Experience
